South Somerset Cars | SSC TAXIS understands that sometimes travel disruptions are unexpected and we will do everything we can to make sure both the company and client are not adversely effected.
On the occasions that booking details are supplied to SSC TAXI inaccurately or incorrectly and we can verify the request of services provided we will charge 100% of the 1-way journey included within the invoice for the correct re-booking of the journey.
SSC TAXIS will require all relevant and reasonable information when booking. Additional requirements should be identified on the booking confirmation. Where amendments to any aspect of the booking are requested subsequent to ‘Booking Confirmation’ being issued, every effort will be made to accommodate requirements although no guarantees can be made.
SSC TAXIS operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. All bookings are subject to vehicle and driver availability.
Payment can be made by cash (in person) or by Credit or Debit card. All major Credit and Debit cards are accepted. Payment of the journey is at the discretion of the driver or SSC TAXIS administration. Please be prepared to pay a secure payment link with us if you have no previous booking history. A vehicle will be allocated and dispatched on receipt of the funds.
Cancellation – 1 week before the date of travel – Full refund. 48 hours before the date of travel – 25% of payment. 24 hours before the date of travel – 50% of payment. Cancellation on day of travel- no refund.
Absence without good cause
If having booked SSC TAXI you fail to meet these terms and conditions without good cause, SSC TAXI will consider reporting the matter to the authorities including the police if you have maliciously or willfully booked our services for no good cause without payment. You will be blacklisted from future journeys and we may pursue you for lost revenue through civil remedies.
Parking, toll or hotel charges (if necessary) will be added to clients invoice at the time of booking if you have a business account with us. Additional collections and drop-offs, not on the original booking, will be charged on an individual basis.
Fixed-Rate Period of Hire
Fixed-rate hire shall commence from time and location of pick-up and complete upon arrival at destination.
Special Rates for Day or Half Day Hire
Half-day rates are up to 5 hours from the time of collection. A fee of £50 per hour, or part thereof, will be charged in the event of the hire period over-running.
Full day rates of £50 per hour apply to hire in excess of 5 hours up to a maximum of 10 hours (over-running fees will apply, see above)
Other duration's of hire, in excess of 12 hours, can be agreed on an individual basis.
SSC TAXI offers comprehensive public liability cover to all passengers whilst using any of our services. We recommended you take out your own travel insurance to cover all other eventualities.
SSC TAXI will not be liable for any loss or delay caused as a result of the following: strike action, industrial disputes, riots, political unrest, hostilities, war, or the threat of war, terrorism, fire, flood, technical/weather problems with airlines or ferry operators, weather conditions or any other event beyond our control including a pandemic consistent with the effects of COVID 19 2020.
SSC TAXI does not accept responsibility for injury, sickness or death of account holder, or passengers, except where such death, injury or sickness is caused by an employee of SSC TAXIS.
All return journeys must be paid in full at time of initial drop-off unless a prior arrangement has been agreed with the Company.
30 days after the date of invoice your account will become overdue which means a service charge of 10% will be added on day 31 and every week thereafter on a rolling total basis, unless terms are otherwise agreed in writing before the contract commences.
Any member of the party acting in an antisocial manner, causing an unwarranted distraction to the driver, or generally causing concerns regarding safety, will be asked to leave the vehicle and seek alternative transport to their destination. No refund will be offered in these circumstances.
Any damage or soiling caused by the client or a member of their party will incur payments for repair/cleaning, including loss of revenue whilst the vehicle undergoes any necessary work. As a guide a valet after soiling with no aggravating features will attract a cost of £110.00. Please note we carry out a strict no smoking policy in all of our vehicles. However additional time can be added to the journey for smoking breaks, but advance notice must be given at the time of booking.
Complaints about the services we provide are taken very seriously and we will do all we can to ensure they are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer. Complaints can be made on the 'contact us' facility on our website, email journey@SouthSomersetCars.com or in writing to 4, Manor Farm Cottages, Crewkerne, Somerset, TA18 7PN. We will aim to resolve your complaint or to supply an other remedy within 28 days of your lodged complaint.
SSC TAXIS reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
